Q: As a freshman, what classes can I take?
A: You can take 3D Modeling & Animation or Art 1 for your Fine Arts Credit or you can take Principles of Arts/AV. You can see a list of all of the art courses that AHS offers at http://alvinhsvisualart.weebly.com/
Q: I took 3D Modeling & Animation for my Fine Art Credit, but I want to take Art II: Digital Art & Media. How can I do that?
A: You need to tell me during your Spring Semester and I can help you get an art portfolio together for the CBE. You then will be able to take Art II: Digital Art & Media.
Q: I want to go to school for Game Design. What should I take?
A: There are lots of aspects to Game Design. If you want to get into the visual side of it, then you are in the right place.
You should take Graphic Design & Illustration, 3D Modeling & Animation, and AP 3D Digital Design/AP 2D Digital Design. These courses will start you on your path.
Q: I want to use the computer to draw cool things?
A: Awesome! You should take Art II: Digital Art & Media, Art III: Digital Art & Media,
and then AP Digital Drawing,
Q: Digital Drawing/Design is where it is at. What do I take?
A: You should take Art II: Digital Art & Media, Art III: Digital Art & Media and then AP 2D Digital Design.
Q: What if I only have 2 years left, what can I take?
A: Take Art II: Digital Art & Media and then take 3D Modeling & Animation or Art III: Digital Art & Media or an AP Digital Art course.
Q: Do I have to take Art I before I take any Digital Art class?
A: No. But, having a foundation in various types of media will give you a better understanding of art (both digital and traditional). You do have to take Art I or present a portfolio (CBE) before you take Art II: Digital Art & Media.
Q: I want to be a Game Designer / Graphic Artist / Digital Painter / Animator / Etc., Where should I go to college.
A: There is no short answer for this. You should come speak with me and I will do my best to set you on the right path to making a decision. Many different options are available to you. I am constantly updating the Beyond page.
